Details
The Mississippi River Basin Panel is hosting our next ANSTF meeting in Little Rock, Arkansas, from May 4 through 6. We will meet for the entire day on the 4th, a very informative field trip will be provided on the 5th, and we will meet again for half of the day on the 6th. This will allow time for participants to return home on the afternoon of the 6th.

Workshop
Tuesday evening workshop - All are invited to a workshop at the Witt Stephens, Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center on Tuesday evening (May 3). A bus will leave the hotel at 4:45 and again at 5:30 to transport participants from the hotel to the Nature Center. The Nature Center has been reserved from 5:00 - 7:00. During this time, we will have the opportunity to sample Asian carp and discuss the pros and cons of harvesting invasives. Press have been invited to attend the first part of this workshop. The bus will leave the Nature Center at 7:00 and again at 9:00 to return to the hotel.

Thursday Field Trip
Below is the schedule for the field trip, which should be both informative and enjoyable. Please wear comfortable clothing. Lunch is $10, which will be collected during registration on Wednesday morning.
Leaving at 8:00 AM from the Hilton:

  • 8:30 – 9:30 AM Keo Fish Farms
  • 9:30 – 10:30 AM Malone Fish Farm
  • 10:30 - 11:15 AM Travel to Bonner Farm (location of first snakehead sighting)
  • 11:15 – 12:15 PM Fish Fry for Lunch
  • 12:15 – 3:00 PM Tour of Snakehead Eradication Attempt area.
  • 3:00 – 5:00 PM Return to Hilton
